If you want all the atmosphere, quirks and originality of a Christmas pop-up but with the quality of a fine-dining experience, look to The Lanesborough's Champagne Vault. The wine cellar has been transformed into candle-lit den complete with banqueting table, lavish table settings and seasonal foliage wrapped in fairy lights.
This is private dining at its most magical. Following a welcome drink of Moët & Chandon Impérial or a bespoke frozéllini, guests enjoy a four-course festive feast, with the option for champagne pairing. Among the offering is goose parfait with spiced orange butter (or Potimarron soup and chestnut purée for vegetarians). This is followed by a gourmet take on a classic roasted turkey, complete with a sumptious-sounding truffle chicken jus. And whatever you do, be sure to leave plenty of room for Christmas pudding and mince pies.
