Warner Bros. Studio Tour: Forbidden Forest
If you haven’t taken your kids on a Warner Bros tour, now is the time – the studio has added the Forbidden Forest to its amazing collection of movie goodies and sets from the Harry Potter films.
Although, strictly speaking, the Warner Bros studio isn't in London but at Leavesden, near Watford in Hertfordshire, it is well worth the short trip north of the capital. This is where the eight Harry Potter films were made over 10 years, and the site is jam-packed with iconic sets, props and costumes.
As well as welcoming visitors to the Great Hall at Hogwarts, Diagon Alley and Gryffindor Tower, children and parents can sup a pint of the wizarding world's favourite beverage, butter beer (non alcoholic) and film themselves playing quidditch and flying on broomsticks in front of a green screen.
This Easter, the studio has unveiled the Forbidden Forest, home to Hippogriffs and Acromantula among many of its creatures. One of Professor Rubeus Hagrid's costumes will be on show, and, lantern in hand, you'll be ushered through the Hogwarts Gates deep into the forest. Comprising 19 trees, each with a diameter of more than 12 feet, you can walk beneath their giant, entwined roots even control the weather.
How to get to Warner Bros studio from London by train:
The Studio Tour’s nearest railway station is Watford Junction, and direct services arrive there from both London Euston (20-minute journey) and Birmingham New Street (one hour). Other non-direct train services operate from London Euston, but please be aware that these may take longer to arrive at Watford Junction.
A shuttle bus runs from Watford Junction to the Studio Tour with a journey time of around 15 minutes. Please plan to arrive at Watford Junction 45 minutes before the time stated on your ticket and have your ticket or booking confirmation ready when boarding the shuttle bus. The last bus departs from the Studio Tour 20 minutes before our closing time which varies depending on the day of your visit.
