Emily Rising, Little Angel Theatre

Children's theatre company Little Angel Theatre is hosting its new production, Emily Rising, this autumn. Discover the nature of friendship and growing up through the eyes of a child

Emily Rising, Little Angel Theatre
Playwright and academic Dan Rebellato is best known for his adult work: his 2010 play Chekhov in Hell, his writing for BBC Radio and The National, and his research on theatre and globalisation.

This September, however, he is bringing a new children's play to the stage, in collaboration with the popular Little Angle Theatre. Rebellato is tackling the issues of growing up and relationships in a friendly and light-hearted play, offering Londoners a sophisticated family day out this autumn.

Emily is a young girl who has a relatively normal life, besides one thing: her feet can no longer touch the ground. She wakes up one day gradually drifting further up into the air, and her journey just keeps on going.

Up above the school playground, sleeping against her bedroom ceiling, she's having fun drifting through the air but isn't going to come down any time soon.

This entertaining production manages to tackle many grownup issues through this insightful show about a young person's approach to life. This show is recommended for children from ages 7 and up.
