City Nights: Party at the Silver Factory, 1966, Copeland Gallery
'The only time I ever want to be something is outside a party so I can get in', mused the epochal pop artist Andy Warhol. Throughout the 1960s, his glamorous Factory parties would bring the glittering personalities of New York's beau monde under one roof for wild evenings of experimental art and hedonistic hooplas.

Now you can relive these epic bacchanals with City Nights, an immersive entertainment company which combines theatre, installation art, themed cocktail bars and live music. A warehouse in Peckham will be transformed into the Silver Factory, a bohemian Manhattan loft in 1966. Political uncertainty hangs in the air in the wake of President Kennedy's assassination. The Vietnam War is at its height, and civil rights protests are sweeping through the country.

But this tense atmosphere is diffused as the colourful members of New York's underground art scene begin to descend on the Silver Factory. Drag queens, musicians, artists and gallerists – all arrive looking to blow off steam and unleash their creativity. Some splatter canvases with paint or tinker away at installation artworks. Guests are right in the middle of this artistic melange and are invited to take part in life drawing, screen printing, and photography and film shoots whilst sipping on pop-art themed cocktails and dancing to DJs and live music.

Party at the Silver Factory is the first of City Night's event series which allows guests to relive the parties of ages past. Get ready for some seriously stylish time-travelling.
