Boneyard, Shoreditch ★★★★

Not your average Shoreditch burger bar, Boneyard London is serving up a real meat feast

Boneyard, Shoreditch
The range of street food in Shoreditch provides ample choice for the hungry Londoner. But duck inside the unassuming Boneyard, located next to Pump London and a stone's throw from famed pop up Boxpark and you'll find a succulent feast that will have you coming back again and again.
Boneyard is the new concept from Robert Newman - founder of Beach Blanket Babylon and West Thirty Six - and is as carefully thought out as his previous eateries. Push through a pair of heavy black doors and step inside a buzzing diner, complete with high wooden tables and a wall lined with alcoholic offerings, reminiscent of a stop off on Route 66. The restaurant is run in a playful, cheery manner: order at the till and wait with your ticket until the food is announced by the welcoming and upbeat staff.
Yet there's nothing casual about the food when it comes: rich, succulent and bursting with flavour - this is meat that will knock you off your bench. We recommend the buttermilk fried chicken that comes with the right amount of crunch; the melt in your mouth ribs and juicy Boneyard burger - all pay serious homage to North American cuisine. To accompany your meat are a range of sides, from crunchy tater tots to green salads. If you have any room, the milkshakes make for a decadent but delicious sweet treat.
This is a restaurant which caters to a particular niche but does so incredibly well. If you're on the hunt for some stand out meat in a laid back atmosphere which doesn't cost the earth, well, Boneyard is a must.
