Selfridges London new ‘handbag hall’ opening

Selfridges are expanding their flagship department store on Oxford Street and its vast new ‘handbag hall’ is now open in time for Christmas.

The new handbag hall at Selfridges
Company executives are claiming it to be the largest hall dedicated to handbags in the world. And indeed the new Selfridges Handbag Hall is 30 feet bigger than Wembley stadium. This is only phase one of an impressive four-year, £300 million project which will triple the overall size of the department store’s eastern wing.

Brands include: Balenciaga, Burberry, Chanel, Céline, Chloé, Chrome Hearts, Gucci, Loewe, Mulberry and Saint Laurent, with prices ranging from £35 to £20,000.

Do we actually want such a gargantuan selecton of bags? At least there is also a 14-seat cocktail and champagne bar, The Fount, being built to revive wary bag ladies and gentleman.
