The Great Seed Festival at The Garden Museum

This weekend The Garden Museum in Lambeth will be hosting a vibrant agricultural celebration of the humble seed that feeds us all.

The Great Seed Festival at The Garden Museum
The lush Garden Museum, set back from the Thames in a converted church, will host an abundance of stalls and workshops - from agricultural experts to novice gardeners there’s something for all eco-warriors among you.
This free two-day event is taking place as part of The Great Seed Festival weekend, with other fringe events due to take place across London throughout October. This horticultural medley, in aid of UK Food Sovereignty Month, will be bringing together farmers, growers, environmentalists, chefs, and performers to ‘rekindle the connection between seed and food.’
These beautiful surroundings, hidden in the heart of London, will play host to a series of bitesize talks on seed, food and farming, as well as storytelling sessions for children brought to you by the Secret Seed Society. There are classroom workshops and talks by celebrated ecologists who discuss topics ranging from affordable growing to biodiversity. The events will be hosted by a number of charities, as well as health and agricultural organisations, including the World Development Movement and the War on Want.
The weekend will also include a screening of the award-winning documentary GMO OMG, which takes a stark new look into the realities of genetically modified food. The film documents a father of three as he travels the US seeking to irrevocably establish the potential harms of genetically modifying crops. Graffiti artist Louis Michel will then be creating an eye-catching work of art for the GMO OMG campaign, followed by a photo-shoot at nearby London landmarks.
Finally, with the increasing demand for restaurants to provide their clientele with fresh and locally-sourced products, The Garden Museum will be hosting an autumnal evening later in October curated by The Art of Dining, which will deliver a unique culinary experience as visitors are invited to enjoy a ‘sumptuous, seasonal feast.’ Moro trained Chef Ellen Parr and set designer Alice Hodge plan to make this an unforgettable evening of autumnal abundance not to be missed.
