Hailed as ‘London’s pop-up king’ and ‘the future of good food’, Jimmy Garcia has once again thrown open the doors of Jimmy’s Underground Pop-Up, this time in the basement of DVine Wines in Clapham. Garcia and his team serve up imaginative dishes that use only well-sourced, local ingredients from foragers and organic farms. Open from Thursday until Sunday, each evening has a different menu in store.
‘Burgers and Bordeaux’ is the Thursday night special; three courses, including a main of beef, lobster or duck burger, with half a bottle of Bordeaux wine.
Fridays and Saturdays host an ethically-sourced five course set menu, for which the spread changes every two weeks. Dishes may include wild venison fillet, parsnip and vanilla puree with sauteed Surrey wild mushrooms, or pan-fried dorade with lemon confit potato 'cylinders' and fish skin twiglets.
Sundays offer a three-course, slow-roast dinner in the garden with a glass of summer punch. Each menu costs thirty pounds, plus artisan wine that can be bought from the upstairs shop. The small scale of the venue (only twenty-five seats), along with the immense popularity of Garcia’s pop-ups, means there is an extremely high demand for tickets. • VENUE

DVine Wine Cellar stocks a range of artisan and natural wines from smaller producers. They have 16 wines available to taste at any time, which can be drunk alongside their cheese and charcuterie boards.

    DRINK

Why not start your evening at The Landor pub, just next door. Sheltered from the frantic bustle of the high street, this high-ceilinged nineteenth century pub offers plenty of nooks and crannies to have a quiet drink, as well as a charming fairylit beer garden. Avoid Sunday nights as the quiz master's voice carries rather...
