From Beethoven to Rock: AyseDeniz Gokcin in London

Pianist AyseDeniz Gokcin returns to London for a performance of Beethoven, rock covers and original compositions

Acclaimed pianist AyseDeniz Gokcin
This Autumn, AyseDeniz Gokcin returns to London for a performance celebrating her two upcoming album releases, Covers & Originals (November 2018) and Beethoven Senses (December 2018).

AyseDeniz is a celebrated pianist, composer and arranger known for her inventive synthesising of classical and rock music. A child prodigy in her native Turkey, AyseDeniz made her concert debut aged just nine and went on to trained at London's Royal Academy of Music. She has performed at prestigious venues worldwide and received widespread recognition after her Pink Floyd Classical Concept album went viral.

On 19 October she will be performing some of Beethoven's most-loved sonatas, including Moonlight, Tempest and Pathetique, accompanied by Benjamin Hughes, principal cellist of the BBC Concert Orchestra. In keeping with her versatile repertoire, she will also perform a number of newly-arranged rock covers, as well as some of her own compositions, including a tribute to the Grenfell fire and a piece inspired by the issue of plastic pollution.

The performance will take place in the beautiful Victorian listed church of St James’s, Paddington, amidst atmospheric coloured light installations. A silent disco experience will provide the audience with additional information on each piece, as well as remixes of tracks inspired by Beethoven.
