Teen Spirit: Elle Fanning has the X Factor

Teen Spirit is a musical drama starring Elle Fanning (Maleficent, The Neon Demon) as Violet, a polish teen born on the Isle of Wight into a single-parent household and a self-detested life. Violet occasionally humours her passion for singing, but is largely unrecognised until a happenstance encounter with ex-opera singer Vlad (Zlatko Buric).

It’s this passion and recognition that takes her to an international singing competition and the stage from which her fate will be decided. This competition will test both her talent and integrity.

This film is punctuated by an unashamed string of pop music video montages (including covers of Robyn's 'Dancing On My Own' and Sigrid's 'Don't Kill My Vibe'). Fanning, unbeknownst to most until this production, can sing very, very well.

The Teen Spirit soundtrack has already been released and it's clear that Fanning could have been a pop star herself. This soundtrack is worth a listen, but, a full appreciation of her amplified talent won't be possible until the film's release in July.
