Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it the movie you'll want to see after gorging on too much turkey and Christmas pudding? Spies in Disguise is landing in cinemas Boxing Day and hoping to fill that cartoon-adventure shaped hole in your festive schedule...
What begins as a fairly standard introduction to an über cool spy, a Mr. Incredible-but-much-more-fashionable-type, turns into something nightmarish and hilarious. It remains to be seen whether the big reveal is in fact genius... or something else entirely.
Plot details aside (much more satisfying when discovered in motion in the trailer), Spies in Disguise boasts a robust voice cast. Will Smith is joined by Tom Holland, our current Spider-Man and gentle young man du jour, as well as Mrs. Maisel herself, Rachel Brosnahan, Rashida Jones, Karen Gillan, Ben Mendelsohn and... DJ Khaled.
It's a puzzling premise with an eclectic cast – but at least this Christmas, in the flurry of sequels and remakes that never seem to fade away, hopefully something thrillingly new will be able to take flight. Or at least avoid the shooing.
Spies in Disguise has partnered up with ultra-fashionable kidswear e-tailer Alex & Alexa, who have curated stylish kidswear edits to suit each character's personality traits.
Alex & Alexa customers can also enter to win an amazing holiday to one of three destinations - Tenerife, Venice or Switzerland. To enter, kids just need to invent and name the ultimate gadget.
