Before the pandemic hit, 'lack of sleep or insomnia' was on the World Health Organization hit-list as one of the biggest threats to our health. So it's not surprising, with Covid jabs under our belts, that there's been a return to the spike in sleep wellness searches, relaxing massages and sleep programmes in London to help us get a better night's rest. We wrote about the importance of sleep here – with some sound advice and product recommendations.


Sleep tourism will also appear on your favourite hotel menus. The Rosewood Hotel Group launched the Alchemy of Sleep programme, saying: 'Taking a holistic approach to sleep, the Alchemy of Sleep retreats address a variety of practices that require attention, such as nutrition, movement and mindfulness, presenting a mix of treatments and experiences, expert consultations and classes that ensure each guest finds skills to incorporate into their everyday lives.'


Expect to find packages from the one-night Dreamscape to the five-night Sleep Transformation. There are also Sleep Boxes that feature sleepy tea and essential oils, linen mists and the obligatory silk eye mask. Check in to the Hôtel de Crillon, Paris.


Meanwhile, Stateside, Park Hyatt New York has its own Central Park-facing Sleep Suites. They feature the sleek Vitruvi essential oils diffuser, Nollapelli linens, sleeping masks, and a library of books – mainly about 'sleep' – and you go to bed on a Bryte, the Silicon Valley start-up mattress brand. These intelligent beds employ AI to wake you gently, control climate, and offer 90 clever cushions that adjust to the body's pressure points and are linked to an app on your phone (what isn't these days?) and can give you specific data on your personalised sleep programme.


For a more diagnostic and intense programme, head to the Sha Wellness Clinic, Spain Insomnia No More: Seven-Day Sleep Recovery Programme For Two At SHA. It will improve the quality of your sleep through a seven-day personalised programme; consulting with a medical expert, nutritionist, personal trainer and sleep polygraph. LONDON SLEEP PACKAGES


Birch Community Sleep Bundle



Closer to home, we have Birch Community. It's set within 55 acres of nature, just 30 minutes from London. Dial down the tension with its Sleep Bundle. The Sleep Concierge, Cadogan


The Sleep Concierge at The Cadogan has teamed up with a Harley Street hypnotherapist and sleep expert to ensure you get a restful night in the city. In-person sessions or a meditative recording are available, along with a pillow menu and weighted blanket; bedtime tea and aromatherapy are all on the cards.
