The easy ‘juice cleanse’ you can do at home
Use lockdown to give your system a re-boot with this easy juice cleanse you can do it at home
The actual benefits of cleansing vary from person to person, however, Kara Rosen, founder of Plenish: the award-winning plant-powered drinks company, says, 'By cutting out inflammatory foods like meat, booze and caffeine, and flooding your system with cold-pressed juices, you are both supporting your detoxification and allowing your digestive system a little rest, being able to eliminate toxins and absorb nutrients more efficiently after your cleanse.'
Pedro Castilo, wellness director at Eden Roc Cap Cana, says, 'Stress eating is a common reaction right now, so keep calm and use your free time to research about new healthy dishes.'
Good advice indeed. This is where Plenish comes in. It makes cleansing easy with a regime of cold-pressed juices, soups and teas, promising around 6kg of raw, organic produce every day and, let's face it, when else would you manage to get that amount in?
The unique selling point is also that it's delivered fresh to your door, so you don't even need to leave your house and face the apocalyptic empty shelves. Plus, you might end isolation with clearer skin and feeling a little lighter.

Sarah Joan Ross, Beauty Director's Verdict:
I wouldn't say I'm usually a cleanse type of person. I get 'hangry' and lethargic easily and lack the willpower of somebody like Goop-y Gwyneth Paltrow. So I approached the three-day Plenish Winter Cleanse with both trepidation and low expectations.
The bundle arrives and I busily order the bottles in the fridge, each into my daily allowance: there's a Gut Guardian probiotic juice shot for first thing, two soups that are lunch and dinner and then four cold-pressed juices, along with dairy-free nut milk. There's a lot of liquid in there, and as it's all teamed with a glass of water in between, it feels like a massive hit of hydration. The scheduling helps to keep me on track and there are the two herbal teas when I need an afternoon cuppa or two. The highlight was the Savour, delicious organic nut milk with dates, cinnamon and cacao (which is reported to help you sleep well) and acted as my dessert treat.
My results? After three full days of the Plenish Winter programme, I was a few pounds lighter, had a flatter stomach, no digestive issues and my sleep pattern was better. Plus, my skin took on the luminosity of a supermodel. And with no 'hangry' episodes it's something I'm thinking about doing every few months.
From £59 per day.
