Danish by birth or residence, multi-disciplinary artists Asger Jorn, Per Kirkeby and Tal R share an interest in the expressive properties of painting and drawing. Despite focusing on differing subject matter – Nordic mythology (Jorn), geology (Kirkeby) and the liminal space of sleep (Tal R) – all three artists boldly experiment with colour and gesture.

This January, Victoria Miro, Mayfair, presents an intimate exhibition of their paintings. The collection on display traces each artist's individual explorations into figuration and abstraction, spontaneity and control, instinct and intellect, and explores the creative dialogue between the trio. Although neither Kirkbey nor Tal R met Jorn, who died in 1973, their work responds to the universal themes explored by Jorn.

A bijou exhibition in the heart of Mayfair that merits a quick whizz round.
