Defy gravity and discover the untold story behind the Wizard of Oz with Wicked. The multi award-winning musical has delighted audiences all around the world. As it continues in its 12th year at the Apollo Victoria theatre, Wicked is among the longest running and most popular shows in West End history.

Based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel telling a prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the show is stuffed with comedy, heart and soaring songs. Long before Dorothy and Toto blew in, two young students are studying sorcery at Shiz University. Glinda is blonde, beautiful and popular. Elphaba is green... and it's not just her unusual complexion that makes it tricky to fit in. As an unlikely friendship blossoms, the conflict between power and popularity has a lasting legacy on their lives and the land of Oz.

The magical story makes Wicked especially entertaining to children, but audience members of all ages can't help but be moved as Elphaba takes to the skies and belts out 'Defying Gravity'.

  • Aster

From the al fresco seating and floral arches to the muted Nordic interiors, Aster feels special as soon as you arrive. This is the latest opening from luxury restaurant group D&D (Bluebird), and we encourage you to start the evening upstairs in the champagne bar to soak up the hyyge chic. Chef Helena Puolakka artfully blends her Finnish roots and French training to craft a menu of fresh and delicate dishes, with plenty of seafood and smoked fish.
