In one of the most exciting theatre announcements of the year, a stage spin-off of hit Netflix sci-fi series Stranger Things is coming to the West End. Set decades before the 80s TV show in 1959, Stranger Things: The First Shadow follows the youthful years of the show's chief adults: Jim Hopper, Joyce Maldonado and Bob Newby. The action unfolds in the series' fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, and we've a feeling all the troubles of the Upside Down won't be far away.

The play comes from scriptwriting pedigree, with Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers working with show writer Kate Trefry and the ever busy Jack Thorne (The Motive and the Cue, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) to give it a fresh life on stage.

The show is due to open at the Phoenix Theatre later on this year. For now? Get brushing up on your knowledge of Demogorgons, Vecna and all that happens in the Upside Down.

Priority booking opens on 28 March, with general tickets released on 30 March. CLICK HERE TO BOOK

  • Homeslice, Fitzrovia

Laid back in its concept and style, the restaurant's premise is simple: delicious 20-inch pizzas, which can also be ordered by individual slice. Homeslice draws a relaxed crowd, and is remarkably good value. Eating at this no cutlery/paper plates pizzeria can be a joyously messy affair.
