Annie Lennox made her name as one half of synth pop duo The Eurythmics, her sharp androgynous aesthetic the perfect foil to the band's icy, dancefloor-ready sound. These days, though, she's increasingly focused on activism, as likely to be found delivering speeches on human rights as laying down a vocal track or cutting a silhouette.

In 2007, she launched the SING Campaign, an HIV/AIDS charity with a focus on South Africa. But her philanthropic work doesn't end there; she's ambassador for a host of other charities, not least UNAIDS, Amnesty and Oxfam. Suffice it to say, she's a busy woman.

On March 12, she joins the Southbank Centre's artistic director Jude Kelly to talk about what it's like to be both a musical icon and a committed humanitarian. Book your ticket to embark on a journey from '80s art pop to contemporary activism.

The event forms part of the Women of the World Festival, tickets for which can be bought here.
