From 1 to 29 August, fans of the British battered fish are in luck, as new pop-up The Notting Gill Chippy is set to open on Kensington Church Street. Chef Tim Peirson offers a twist on conventional fish & chips with his contemporary interpretations of British classics alongside trademark staples.
Inventive alternatives include a bitter & twisted scampi, freshly made with whisky-cask-matured golden ale. Other treats to intrigue include the poppy and rye sourdough with seaweed butter and baby onions, cornichons and quail eggs – all presented in vintage Kilner jars.
The chippy hasn’t completely lost touch with its roots and will also be serving up a classic Fish & Chips served with tartare sauce and mushy peas, as well as a fish finger butty with spicy ketchup.
Beer isn’t resigned to the batter, with Harviestoun Schiehallion lager and the 'Bitter & Twisted' ale available on tap.The pop-up venue is decorated in maritime colours, for those who prefer a taste of the sea indoors. There's also a take away option, so those on the move can benefit from the same fishy delights as the sit-in diners.

  • Mazi

Mazi serves an authentic, yet refined Greek menu a stone's throw from Notting Hill Gate. Don't expect to see pitta and humous -- which are Cypriot -- here! Instead order one of Mazi's particularly inventive cold jars, such as its delicious feta spread, which are accompanied by slivers of homemade bread.
