If you haven't heard of the London Shell Co, you're missing out. Their supper clubs, run by siblings Harry and Leah Lobek, have been going since September 2015, attracting plaudits and some serious gourmet attention; it's particularly appreciated that, unlike many chefs who don't seem to know or care about wine, they give just as much thought into their pairings, thanks to Harry's previous work as a sommelier at Pollen Street Social.

They are going to be opening their first permanent London site in Paddington in September, in a boat on the Regents Canal, but before then they're collaborating with their supplier Wright Brothers for a properly decadent one-off, four-course dinner at Wright Brothers' Soho flagship. Dishes on offer will include everything from things you'd expect (Morecambe Bay and Jersey oysters, chargrilled cod collars) with plenty you wouldn't - think prawn stuffed tempura peppers and roast pork belly with San Chou Bau. Harry's going to be pairing the dishes with drinks both weird and wonderful (vintage champagne and fennel infused vodka pickelback, to name but two) and it promises to be quite an evening.

It's not cheap - £100 a ticket - but with only 18 places available, it will sell out in no time. To make sure of your place, contact [email protected]

There's chocolate babka made in the bakery every morning, wondrous proper Israeli fluffy soft rounds of pita cooked to order, a mangal oven for char-grilling and a gorgeous pink and turquoise retro interior -- what's not to like?

  • The Araki

The first Japanese restaurant in Britain to be awarded three Michelin stars, The Araki has a simple premise: one menu, eleven courses, all sushi. This is seriously high-end, gourmet stuff and you won't experience anything else like it. The restaurant itself is breathtaking with Edo period-inspired décor and a counter made from a two hundred year-old Japanese cypress.
