The best bookshops with cafes in London

By Shivani Kochhar on 26/3/2018

The literary coffee-house is a historical institution: we've found its 2018 incarnation – the bookshop-cum-cafe. These places are just as brilliant for browsing the bookshelves as they are for sitting down for a (three course!) meal. Whatever kind of bibliophile you are, here's a round up of the best spots to relax, read and have a bite to eat.

The one with the best cake: London Review Bookshop

This bookshop has established itself as one of London’s best – probably because of the mouth-watering cakes on offer. Fancy a brownie with your book? The LRB Cake Shop serves them up warm.

The cakes are homemade in store every day and are so popular that you can pre-order cakes to take home for special occasions. The extensive tea list and tea-room feel make this the perfect place to spend an afternoon.
