Pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason was due to give a much looked-forward to concert at the Royal Albert Hall in April. With that event postponed, here's an alternative way to see this engaging player in action.

A member of the Nottingham-based family that has stunned the music world with its ability and versatility, Kanneh-Mason plays a typically varied programme at 7PM on Wed 20 May.

In a big year for Beethoven, she plays the lively first movement of the composer's Piano Sonata No 2 in A Major. Then she enjoys the romanticism and virtuosity of Chopin with his Prelude in D minor, Op 29 No 24. Coming into the 20th century, she looks to American and George Gershwin's Three Preludes.

The concert not only gives us a welcome break with the pianist, with a programme that will appeal to the whole family. It will also raise funds for the life-changing music education charity London Music Masters. LMM teaches 1,300 children every week, 41% of whom are eligible for free school meals. With so many opportunities for youngsters currently closed, its work is more vital than ever.

The charity has three months to raise £250,000 to continue its work. To keep their students engaged and motivated, the LMM team has organised online resources, weekly Zoom lessons and a regular programme of events encouraging creative music making.

You can show your appreciation for the concert and donate by heading to its website. There you'll also find a virtual flashmob from LMM students, artists and ambassadors, and a special guest message from LMM's Teacher Training Ambassador Nicola Benedetti.
