Beauty News: London

By Sarah Joan Ross on 20/1/2020

All the beauty news Londoners need to primp and preen in the capital this month

Glossier London pop-up

Glossier London pop-up

Glossier’s newest temporary retail experience, aka the Glossier London pop-up, is opening at 13 Floral Street, Covent Garden and is going to be inspired by the great British social club.

Think an explosion of floral fabrics on the walls, floors and doors, hidden entranceways and secret passages.

There’s also a co-ordinating flower-powered umbrella (the news of our terrible British weather reaches far and wide!).

Plus, Glossier will donate £5 to the Young Women’s Trust, a charity that fights for gender equality and helps struggling young women gain confidence and find work.

There’s also a ‘ Glossier London skyline’ a full-scale scale installation (cameras at the ready) plus all of their iconic and cult beauty products to play with – colour-match for the ‘Stretch’ concealer, sniff-test the ‘You’ and depart with fluffy ‘Boy Brows’? Yes please!

Glossier London will open its doors on Wednesday 20 November at 10am and run through until Sunday 9 February 2020.

Everyone's favourite budget skincare brand The Ordinary arrives at Boots

The Ordinary, the cult selling skincare range, which on launch sold a whopping 30,000 products in the first two weeks has arrived at some Boots stores and online. You know the brand: the vast range that consists of straightforward, hardworking hero products, utilising high-performance ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and cold-pressed marula oil, that come in at mostly under £10.

Joanna Rogers, commercial director and VP of Beauty at Boots UK, said: 'We’re raising the bar for beauty at Boots to give our customers a choice of beauty favourites – from the loved and tested to the up-and-coming. The Ordinary brings brilliant, high-performance and efficacious products to Boots, and this launch is another important step in our plans to shake up what’s expected from high-street beauty.'
