Lucy Raven, Serpentine Gallery

American artist Lucy Raven presents her first UK solo exhibition this winter at the Serpentine

Lucy Raven, Serpentine Galleries 2016
NYC artist Lucy Raven fuses together a variety of media including animated films, sculptural installations and live television. Her interest lies in particular on the nuances of what happens behind the camera, in the grey areas of film and animation. In a globalised world, Raven's particular insight into the relationship between technology, labour and the image is more relevant than ever.

It is the passage of time and space, of the evolution of Hollywood cinema, and of the processes of image creation which Raven centralises, and which illuminates the connection between people and the production of images which we consume in our millions every day. During this Serpentine exhibition, a series of film evenings will take place in the central exhibition space.

Raven's exhibition promises to be an exciting insight into the production of images, the processes which create film, and the people who help to shape their ongoing evolution. For all those with an interest in the still and moving image, Raven's exhibition is one which will shine a light on the production of images and interrogate the ideas we think we know well.
