Kohei Nawa: Force, Pace London

From stuffed animals to hot glue: Japanese star Kohei Nawa toys with material at Pace London exhibition 2015

Kohei Nawa artist, Pace Gallery London
Kohei Nawa is an artist making an impact - and not just in the East Asian art world. This rising star first caught our eye when he filled a dark room at the Aichi Triennale with billowing clouds of bubbles and foam.
As an installation of his work opens at Pace for the very first time in London, this is a fantastic opportunity to see the work of a Japanese artist at the top of his game and the forefront of innovation with materials.
Kohei Nawa art & style
Nawa’s sculptures, paintings and installations are captivating representations of contemporary digital culture. His internationally renowned ‘PixCell’ series fuses the natural and artificial by applying glass beads in multiple sizes to objects, ranging from household toys to taxidermy stag heads.
The Pace London exhibition is a short-but-sweet showcase of the fascinating pieces from Kohei Nawa's Direction, Ether, Catalyst and Moment series, with drawings, sculptures and site-conditioned installations to get your teeth into.
