Missed Henri Matisse’s The Snail and other iconic cut-outs this summer? Never fear: Tate Modern’s opening times stretch to breaking point for a special all-night event over the exhibition’s final weekend, writes Ali Godwin

On the last weekend of the blockbuster exhibition Henri Matisse: The Cut-Outs, Tate Modern is keeping its doors open all night for one last hoorah. From 10am on Saturday 6th September to 10pm on the Sunday evening visitors will be able to have a final look at Matisse’s vibrant abstract cut-outs and even watch the sun come up over the Thames.

With exhibition talks until the early hours; workshops for visitors to make their own brightly coloured cut-outs and all-night free film screenings of Moumen Smihi’s documentary, With Matisse in Tangiers (1993), there is plenty to help you keep the midnight oil burning

The Tate Modern restaurant will be getting into the swing of things, serving a delicious Matisse-inspired menu of late night snacks, and hot breakfast and pastries from 5am. A neon bar in the Tate’s famous Turbine Hall will also be serving beer, coffee and soft drinks throughout the night.
