Bright Lights documentary: Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds

Celebrate the lives of Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds and their mother-daughter relationship with the Sky Atlantic documentary Bright Lights

Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. Bright Lights documentary.
The world wept when Carrie Fisher, the outlandish and unashamedly original actress who played Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise, died on the 27th December, just one day before her mother the Hollywood superstar Debbie Reynolds.

The closeness between the two women, which was for many epitomised by the nearness of their deaths, is being honoured on Tuesday night with the airing of a documentary Bright Lights.

The footage for the documentary was shot between 2014 and 2015. It explores the friendship between the two women and takes an honest look into the reality of Hollywood fame and Fisher's struggles with mental health and addiction.

Following the death of the two stars, the film that was directed by Fisher Stevens and Alexis Bloom and originally scheduled for March, will premiere early on HBO in America before coming to Sky Atlantic on 10 January.
