1. THEATRE: Not About Heroes, Trafalgar Studios
Verse and music help tell the story of friendship between famed WW1 poets Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon in this touching theatrical revival

2. CLASSICAL: 
The Emerson Quartet, Queen Elizabeth Hall
String quartet maestros Haydn, Ravel and Beethoven are explored by the celebrated New York chamber ensemble, now joined by new cellist Paul Watkins

3. BOOK NOW FOR CHILDREN, Zoonation, Linbury Studio, ROH
Irrepressible rap and street dance outfit Zoonation tackle The Mad Hatter's Tea Party (and storm London's bastion of classical ballet)

4. POP-UP MOVIE HOUSE: Underground Film Club, the Vaults

Three acclaimed modern choreographers tackle the themes of identity and loss in a fascinating mixed bill – and tickets are still available

7. FOODIE POP-UP: Night Tales, Shoreditch
The winter night market takes over Shoreditch car park for cockle-warming food van treats, DJ sets and cocktails

8. GIG: Damon Albarn, Royal Albert Hall

Blur frontman Albarn won critical plaudits for his first solo album, Everyday Robots, and tickets are still available to see him perform it in the most prestigious of settings 

9. OPERA, L'elisir d'amore, Royal Opera House
Donizetti's charming comic opera is a beaker full of the warm South, starring Vittorio Grigolo, Lucy Crowe and Bryn Terfel in an acclaimed production by Laurent Pelly
