Festive Makers' Market, Geffrye Museum Gardens

The pop-up Christmas market at the Geffrye Museum offers a gleaming assortment of handmade morsels you won't want to miss

Festive Makers' Market, Geffrye Museum
Set in 18th-century almshouse buildings, the Geffrye Museum is a little pocket of rustic bliss that hearkens to bygone eras of interior and exterior design. It’s easy to while away a weekend afternoon strolling through its history admiring the tasteful décor, stylish gardens and exquisite craftsmanship of former centuries.

For one day only on 8 December, the Geffrye Museum is offering visitors an opportunity to admire crafts of a more modern kind at their family-friendly Christmas Market. For one day only, visitors have the chance to view the lovely handicrafts assembled by independent shops in North-East London. From jewellery and handbags to pillows and dolls, the market is a chance to peruse a plethora of goodies and wander between a range of Christmassy pop-up stalls dotting the ornate gardens of the museum.

Those on the hunt for a more hands-on craft experience might want to book a spot on the museum's wreath-making workshop, where you can learn origami and create your own chic Christmas garland using exquisite hand-crafted paper. Meanwhile, those with an eye for the edible are also spoilt for choice; whether it's mulled wine, hot chocolate or baklava that takes your fancy, you're sure to find something to tickle your tastebuds.

The market is free to enter, but the workshop is £30 and needs to be booked in advance.
