Showtunes, highkicks and Grammy award-winning singer Sheena Easton come to the West End in this glitzy revival of hit 1980 musical 42nd Street.

The meta-theatrical show is based on Bradford Ropes' eponymous novel and the subsequent film adaptation. It tells the story of director Julian Marsh as he attempts to create a hit stage show in Depression-era New York. The theatricality translates naturally to the stage; the show proved a Tony-winning hit at its Broadway premiere and an Olivier when in opened at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 1984. Now it returns to the same theatre for 2017.

It's a nostalgic celebration of the art of musical theatre, with songbook stuffed with hits including We're In The Money, Dames, I Only Have Eyes For You and the title track, 42nd Street. Along with the star power of Easton, this revival has an enormous cast of 50, who will fill London's largest stage with a song and dance extravaganza that set 1980s musical theatre off to a pulsating start.

Now booking until 14 October 2017.
