On 10 December, superstar chef Nigella Lawson will discuss her new cookbook, Simply Nigella, with Guardian journalist Zoe Williams. This latest release is a slight change of direction: usually Nigella's dishes are characterised by their voluptuousness - bags of sugar, blocks of butter, glugs of cream.

Simply Nigella, however, is a much calmer affair. We're given uncomplicated 'feel good' dishes like miso salmon, Thai noodles, granola. This is healing food, designed to counter the stresses of everyday living (and, Lord knows, Nigella's weathered her fair share of stress).

The controversial British chef is staunchly loved by her readers and has become immensely popular not only through her books, How to Eat, How to Be a Domestic Goddess, but also in her BBC cookery productions Nigella Feasts and
Nigellisima.
