The Selfish Giant, Vaudeville Theatre

Oscar Wilde's famous fairy tale The Selfish Giant is reimagined as a folk opera on the Vaudeville Theatre stage

The Selfish Giant, Vaudeville Theatre
The Vaudeville Theatre continues their Oscar Wilde season with a brand new production of The Selfish Giant. The show transforms Wilde's classic children's story into a fantastical folk opera, complete with stunning choreography and original songs.

The family friendly performance follows the adventures of the Selfish Giant, an accomplished horticulturist. When he refuses children entry to his carefully cultivated garden, he meets a plot twist of Frozen proportions. His precious patch of land quickly becomes an icy hellscape: flowerbeds freeze into snowbanks, as the garden goes glacial. Winter is here – and it's here to stay.

Will the giant open his heart (and, subsequently, his garden gates) to the neighbourhood children? More importantly, will the winter winds ever dissipate?

Don't miss this folk opera interpreted for the stage by award-winning composer Guy Chambers.
