Septimus Bean and His Amazing Machine, Unicorn Theatre May half term
Septimus Bean and His Amazing Machine, Unicorn Theatre REVIEW: Culture Whisper says: ★★★★

This May half term, the Unicorn Theatre is welcoming little ones with their desperately silly and hart-warming adaptation of Septimus Bean and His Amazing Machine, the rhyming children's book by Janet Quin-Harkin.

Adam Peck, creator of the Unicorn Theatre's recent adaptation of Minotaur, has turned his considerable talents to the story of a young inventor who takes his magnificent machine to the King and the court, but doesn't yet know what it's for.

On their search to create inspiring and fresh dramas for children, the Unicorn Theatre have transformed this short book into an interactive hour long play by having inventor Septimus Bean arrive at the King's palace again and again with a variety of different machines of varying levels of impressiveness.

Full of rhythmical, inventive silliness and slap-stick humour, as well as pretty impressive staging that becomes pretty magical by the end (no spoilers), this is the play for fun-loving youngsters this half term.

Suitable for ages 4-8
