Pattern and Print Making, February Half Term, Creative Arts Club
Following the success of the wide-ranging creative workshops, world art styles to street art and festive themes at Christmas, Helena Allan and Sophie Sharpe are back this February half term with a workshop on the history of printing.
For a week long, children will learn about four major types of printing: planography, relief, intaglio and stencils following a research day that springboards the week of creative output.
Children aged 4-8 can expect to create prints from stamps to block printed tote bags and t-shirts all of their own to take home with them, take a look at how printing is used around the world, journeying from Europe into Africa and Asia, the workshop will look at how artist printing techniques.
For kids looking to get a head-start, we recommend taking them to the V&A to have a look at The Fabric of India exhibition, all about ancient dying and printing techniques throughout the course of Indian history.
We recommend these workshops to any kid with an artistic streak as a wonderful place to meet new friends and foster creative talents.
