Chelsea Physic Garden weaves a path through the enchanted forests of The World Woodland Garden 2015

Chelsea's hidden gem, the Physic Garden, weaves a serpentine path through enchanted forests in The World Woodland Garden 2015. Unlike previous forests at the Chelsea Physic Garden, London, this year's planting spotlights the traditional and modern use of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals and bulbs as medicine, nourishment and shelter.
Moving through three distinct sections you'll discover North American woodlands in the northern portion, plants from Europe in the middle and East Asian species in the southern section. Amongst the 150 new plants there are a number of ornamental woodland species, including 15 wild Galanthus to add to the existing beautiful snowdrops in bloom. Step into the wilderness of the garden's wooded areas and you'll feel like a nymph strolling through the 1/2 acre of micro-forest, where a beautiful oak pergola links this new garden to the existing wooded areas. Children and families will also learn a great deal about the historic and contemporary usage of plants and why they are so important.
Dip into this oasis in the heart of London to learn more about why forest plants are so important.
