Paddington: Illustrated and Animated, House of Illustration

All the way from darkest Peru, Paddington Bear comes to the House of Illustration in charming collection of drawings and animations from Micheal Bond's classic books.

To celebrate the Paddington Bear movie (release date: November 28th), House of Illustration are hosting a special exhibition to showcase how artists and animators have imagined the famous bear and brought him to life on page and television screen.
We expect fans of Paddington (young and old) to be enchanted -- and armed with marmalade sandwiches! For little ones who are yet to encounter the adventurous bear, there are plenty of books at the exhibition to teach the next generation all about the iconic duffle coat and red wellington boots.
Delightfully arranged in a collection of cabinets and crannies the exhibition reveals the evolution of Paddington Bear spanning simple line drawings, bright illustrations, 1970s animation techniques and even clips from the upcoming Paddington film.
The exhibition is free to those with a ticket to the House of Illustration main exhibition (Paula Rego/Honoré Daumier: Scandal, Gossip and Other Stories), or just a few pounds if you only want to pop in and see Paddington.
