Seminal moments in British history: illustrator Linda Kitson comes to House of Illustration this March with an exhibition curated by Quentin Blake

Linda Kitson, House of Illustration: family exhibitions London
The enchanting House of Illustration in North London has been involved in a love affair with illustrator Quentin Blake for some time. We melted before the Quentin Blake gallery, made especially for him last year.

This March, the much loved British artist is showing us artwork by one of his inspirations, his friend Linda Kitson, who studied at the Royal College of Art alongside Blake.

Kitson is famed for her line drawings, which have recorded seminal moments in British history. This new exhibition charts a lifetime of Kitson putting pen to paper (and iPad) and documenting historic events from the 1982 Falklands War to the present.

She was the first female artist commissioned to accompany troops into combat, and offers a unique perspective on British history. We predict this exhibition will make for a lovely introduction to the recent history of this small Island for mature visitors and youngsters alike, all in this quiet, light space near King's Cross.
