Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in Concert, Royal Albert Hall

Harry Potter and the Philoshopher's Stone comes to the big screen with live orchestral accompaniment at the Royal Albert Hall

Harry Potter: Royal Albert Hall concert commemorates The Philosopher's Stone
Muggles might not be able to fly brooms, transfigure objects or turn back time but with the right tools and talent we can make some pretty magical melodies.

A full orchestra and chorus, playing live in London's Royal Albert Hall, will demonstrate just how rousing classical music can be in a special orchestral screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in May 2017.

20 years after a book about a boy who lived under the stairs sparked a world wide obsession with The Boy Who Lived, Pottermania is still going strong. All seven of J.K Rowling's novels were adapted to blockbuster films, her wizarding world is thriving on stage, and will be commemorated in a landmark 20th anniversary exhibition at the British Library.

To most Potterheads, the film series is a squib compared to the mighty magic of Rowling's prose. But devoting an evening to watching pre-teen Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint lead a cast of Britain's greatest actors will be greatly enhanced by live musical and a 40 foot screen.

John Williams' Oscar-nominated score offsets the mystery and majesty of Hogwarts perfectly and will be even more bewitching played live by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, echoing around the Royal Albert Hall.

Public booking for Harry Potter live in concert opens at 9am on Friday 19 August. Note that you must register with the Royal Albert Hall here ahead of booking.
