Ferdinand film

Munro Leaf's beloved book, Ferdinand, has been brought to life in a heart-warming animation by Pixar Animation Studios

Ferdinand film
With remakes of films released less than 30 years ago becoming the norm, it is refreshing to see a slightly older tale being given a breath of life.

Based on Munro Leaf’s 1936 illustrated children's classic, The Story of Ferdinand, this touching and funny animation carries the ever-valuable message to never judge a book by its cover.

The plot follows Ferdinand, a Spanish bull with a big heart and no desire to fight matadors in the arenas. Mistaken for a dangerous animal, Ferdinand finds himself taken from his home and family. He and a team of misfit helpers embark on a mission to reunite Ferdinand with his relatives.

With a star-studded cast, including the wrestler John Cena, who gives voice to Ferdinand himself, David Tennant, and Kate McKinnon, of Saturday Night Live fame, this film, due for release on 15 December, looks set to draw a big crowd at the box office. It should prove a hit with families in the upcoming winter holidays.
