Good news for music fans: After the new Wild Beasts album, Boy King came out this summer, there will be two concert dates at Camden's Roundhouse. It's an angsty return to form for the band, now on their fifth album, with lead single Get My Bang providing a shouty, satisfying welcome-back.
Band member Hayden Thorpe has discussed the liberation on this album, discussing their changing approach to song-writing: “The only thing you can do from that point onwards is turn your vehicle into traffic and play chicken with yourself, and do all the things you said you’d never do.”
The album is out August 5, just in time for some gritty rock beside the BBQ. You can catch them at the Roundhouse on October 4, and with the album shaping up to be this good, it would be wise to book sooner rather than later.
