Mac DeMarco, Roundhouse

After huge demand for the first Mac DeMarco Roundhouse show, second date added for 'Salad Days' tour this Sep.

Roundhouse: Mac DeMarco London Show: Second Date Added
He sold out the Roundhouse once already this September. Now, for those a little slower off the mark, there's a second chance to see Mac, as he adds a new show at Roundhouse, September 9.
Everyone is talking about Mac DeMarco. An incorrigible goof, his antics can be distracting. But beyond the games, this 24 year old Canadian is making really good music. His slacker rock is simple and catchy. He's practically pop, but with his lilting, detuned guitar and his frank but far away vocals, these are pop songs on the curdle. DeMarco's lyrics are laidback and preoccupied with the everyday. Ode to Viceroy, for instance, from DeMarco’s debut album 2, is a love letter to his favourite brand of cigarette.
His latest album, Salad Days, was a languorous meander with a darker palette: "As I'm getting older, chip up on my shoulder", sings Demarco over a leisurely riff, "Missing hippy Jon, salad days are gone".
Let My Baby Stay is a sad domestic tale of addiction, which luxuriates in nodding, Lennon-esque melody.
DeMarco is doing something entirely unique. Book tickets and see for yourself.
