Vinegar Yard: London Bridge's new food market

Discover street food, vintage flea markets and art installations at Vinegar Yard – London's outdoor dining haven

Vinegar Yard: a new food and art hub lands in London Bridge
Borough market has a new rival in feeding the hungry hoardes in South London. Vinegar Yard, a new eating, drinking, shopping and art space from the team behind Flat Iron Square, will officially open at London Bridge on Wednesday 3 April.

Feast on an eclectic line-up of street food stalls in an outdoor garden with prime views of the Shard. Baba G’s, winner of Million Pound Menu and inventor of the ‘naanwich’ will bring Indian-inspired burgers and sandwiches. Things get fiery with Up In My Grill who create Argentinian-inspired flame-grilled steaks. Discover Italian street food with Sugo’s meaty ciabattas filled with vegetable sauces. Turnips, the Borough Market fruit and veg stall will offer a veg-led menu of risottos and fresh juices. For your comfort-food cravings, head to Nanny Bill’s who offer gravy-dipped burgers and crunchy croquettes. And to wash it all down? Enjoy craft beers from local London breweries and coffee by The Gentlemen Baristas.

If you're looking to satisfy your retail therapy needs, Flea, the vintage market, are moving into the space offering clothing, homewares, books, ceramics, cameras and more. Other pop-ups include Independent Traders who specialise in designer sportswear and stock brands such as Burberry, Nike, Tommy Hilfiger and The North Face, decorative florist Chez Michele and many more sustainable and ethical businesses.

As well as a vibrant ecosystem of food, drink and shopping, Vinegar Yard also plans to be a home for art and has commissioned work by British artist Joe Rush, famous for his installations made of repurposed materials which have been exhibited at Glastonbury, as well as in collaborations with Vivienne Westwood and The Rolling Stones. Visitors will also have a chance to see the artist at work in his on-site studio where he and his team are creating an apocalyptic mechanical installation to go on show in the next few weeks – make sure you leave room for a bit of theatre.

Open from 7:30 till 23:00 seven days a week (until 22:00 on Sundays), Vinegar Yard is sure to be a buzzing summer haunt for post work feeds and weekend diners. It’s a welcome new addition to the city’s street food scene.
