The Other Naughty Piglet brings the joy and charm of The Naughty Piglet, Brixton, to The Other Place theatre

The Other Naughty Piglet restaurant, Victoria
Having eaten at The Naughty Piglet in Brixton, Andrew Lloyd Webber propositioned its head somelier, Margaux Aubry Sharratt: would she like to be the culinary pinnacle of his new theatre?

The St James Theatre closed last year and became The Other Place, a 200-seat theatre and a learning and centre, with rehearsal space. Up some flighty marble stairs, you'll find The Other Naughty Piglet, the long-awaited follow-up to the original Brixton eatery.

Like in Brixton you'll find best of British ingredients served with a penchant for the seasons. Dishes have modern European spins, and arrive in generous portions. You'll find brill, butter sauce, monks beard and pink fir potatoes, burrata and sage and anchovy and boudin noir, cuttlefish and capers.

Distinct British afters include rhubarb and custard and a chocolate mousse with blood orange and almonds.

Margaux is an expert in natural wines by the glass, of which you should take her deft recommendations - most are from small vineyards. The glamorous setting is modern and versatile: sit at the bar, at communal tables or traditionally. You'll need to go for lunch or dinner though: despite its relaxed feel (and being in a theatre) there's no all-day dining.
