The Krio Kanteen - A Taste of Sierra Leone, Vagabond N7
Take a culinary trip to Sierra Leone this Mother's Day with a pop-up supper club from The Krio Kanteen. The London food scene is famously cosmopolitan, but African cuisine has been woefully underrepresented in recent years. Thank goodness, then, for The Krio Kanteen, one of the vanguards of a new food movement bringing the best authentic African cuisine to the capital.

They have been running super clubs since 2017, serving traditional Sierra-Leonean food with a mix of British staples. On Sunday 11 March The Krio Kanteen will be serving up classic Sierra-Leonean dishes, such as jollof rice, plasas, spicy fish balls, pepper soup and sweet plantain for all those who attend. Dessert takes the form of their special mango and caramel cake with clotted cream. There will be complimentary ginger beer or you can bring your own booze.

But this is a supper club with more than just supper. The Krio Kanteen will tell traditional stories from Sierra Leone through music and poetry alongside serving you a taste of the nation. The live entertainment will include poetry from Abu B, Yillah aka the Black Superhero and Joe Faulkner. The ladies at Mavaa Collection will also be there selling their statement bags.

This promises to be an authentic culinary and cultural evening.
