London in the Sky
Events in the Sky, London
Events in the Sky returns to London this autumn; the unique culinary experience that affords diners immaculate views over London while feasting on the best food the capital has to offer. Suspended 25 metres from the ground, the fine-dining restaurant will be an exhilarating experience with a menu to boot. Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner – with a side of vertigo.
Dinner in the Sky, St Katharine Docks
Previously serving up delicious food to famished financiers in Canary Wharf, this year 'Dining in the Sky's view shifts upstream, like a migrating salmon, to the trendy and iconic St Katharine Docks where it will reside suspending its customers in mid-air from 17 to 30 September.
The menu for Dinner in the Sky has been orchestrated and fine-tuned by the best chefs in London, a list of culinary galacticos with a cosmos of Michelin star experience that reads like a who’s who of up-and-coming chefs.
From Dan Doherty of Duck & Waffle to Robert Ortiz of Lima, Mark Sargeant of Morden & Lea, Sophie Michell of Pont St, Mike Reid of M Restaurants, Martin Morales of Ceviche and Andina, Tom Aikens of Tom’s Kitchen, Calum Franklin of Holborn Dining Room, Chantelle Nicholson of Tredwell’s from Marcus Wareing and Peter Weeden from Newman Street Tavern – there are so many impressive names at the helm here we seriously doubt many could do it better.
Certainly not suspended in the sky overlooking a city simultaneously ancient and modern in its skyline, floating above the historic Thames with a flute of Champagne Tattinger accompanying your dinner or a Villa Maria Wine your lunch.
The platform offers diners a unique experience in the heart of one of the world’s food capitals. Indeed, Dinner in the Sky was so successful in its previous incarnation at Canary Wharf that this time the floating platform has been allowed two weeks of revelry – usually a corporate company the gracious powers that be have opened this to the public, allowing the rank and file a taste of the elite.
Undoubtedly one of the most unique dining experiences in London this September – whether it's worth the high price tag remains to be seen.
