Rök, Shoreditch's new Scandinavian Restaurant
Rök (Swedish for ‘smoke’) is Shoreditch’s newest smokehouse. Scandinavian themed, it promises high quality British ingredients treated in various traditional ways – brined, pickled, smoked and cured.
Newest and freshest of the London barbecue restaurants
The Nordic menu is from Barnyard and Aveqia’s Matt Young, with a few traditional additions. The meat, supplied by quality curing-house, Islington’s Cobble Lane Cured, will be smoked in the on-site barbecue.
Look out, Shoreditch restaurants
It all looks set to be delicious in combination with familiar vegetables in unfamiliar conditions: burnt apples, charred broccoli and pickled slaw, and even some unusual options such as Birch syrup and lingonberry jam.
Rök joins Berber & Q in taking advantage of London’s enjoyment of barbecue, and we trust Matt Young to make this stylish, decently-priced restaurant a source of pleasure for Shoreditch foodies everywhere.
Rök Shoreditch opening hours
Rök Shoreditch is only open in the evenings, from 5pm-11pm on weekdays, and 5pm-1am on Fridays and Saturdays. They plan to open for lunch soon.
