This spring, boutique catering company Cuisson is teaming up with Laurent-Perrier to host a series of afternoon teas in the historic surrounds of Burlington Arcade.
From 8 April to 26 June, they'll be hosting their 'modern interpretation' on afternoon tea, with a carefully curated menu, served on Wedgewood's luxury bone china tablewares and crafted by the Fat Duck's pastry chef Hideko Kawa, who's teaming up with the team at Cuisson. Cuisson has been building a reputation with its unique Michelin star London pop-ups. Founded by chef Paul Hannagan, Cuisson focuses on 'intelligent and interactive cookery' from its group of chefs – all of whom hail from Europe's finest restaurants.
On the menu
The menu will feature all the traditional Afternoon Tea fare, along with some innovative dishes created by the chefs. Scones will be served up with Cuisson's homemade jams and marmalade, as well as clotted cream and homemade butter cream to satisfy traditionalists, but there's also a range of savoury offerings to keep you feeling sated, including coronation chicken terrine with smoked salmon cornet caviar.
Diners can rest assured they won't leave hungry, as there's also a hearty British offering of roast beef with smoked butter, herb mayonnaise chocolate caviar. And for the eternally sweet tooth, the Laurent-Perrier team are throwing their Champagne trifle into the mix, along with Hideko's signature sweet burger and Cuisson's choux pastry with caramel and candied herbs.
And for a final sweep of culinary luxury the Tea table will be decked out with macaroons aplenty along with textured citrus and honey. Red berry flavours of Lauren-Perrier Cuvée Rosé will be served to accompany the food: with so many gastronomical talents afoot, we're sure you're in safe hands.
The £65 ticket price includes the two glasses of Rosé: there will also be a selection of homemade soft drinks on offer. We're suitably convinced.
