Ottolenghi Spitalfields

Ottolenghi's latest restaurant comes to Spitalfields: think more towering salads and the freshest ingredients.

A new restaurant from world famous chef Yotam Ottolenghi’s franchise will be opening in late march in East London’s Spitalfields.
Drawing on elements form both the Israeli chef’s original Islington venue and sister restaurant Nopi, the new Ottolenghi will serve up more of his typical vegetarian fare, with towering displays of salads and cakes as well as a ‘grab and go’ bar – for fleeting diners.
On Artillery Lane, moments from Liverpool Street Station, the new Ottolenghi will be housed in a masterfully restored building aimed at reflecting London’s rich history, combining elements of Medieval, Post-War and Modern architecture to create 'one single, eclectic space.'
The restaurant-cum-deli will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, bringing Ottolenghi's trademark convivial, relaxed edge to fine dining.
The menu will feature typically bold salads and light plates by day, with offerings ranging from Roasted Aubergine with hazelnut pesto, sautéed onion, chili and mint to Lamb Kofta with pine nuts, cumin, herbs and sundried tomato, served up with a saffron yoghurt sauce.
In the evenings, Ottolenghi will transform into a more sophisticated space, with low lighting and a large range of dishes à la carte, the restaurant will be dishing up the likes of Yellow fin, line-caught seared tuna wrapped in nori and panko with wasabi cream and a Char-grilled fillet of English beef with sweet coriander-mustard sauce.
Renowned sommelier Heidi Knudsen has crafted a unique selection of natural wines aimed at complementing the daring Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours of Ottolenghi’s menu. A selection of innovative cocktails, including a Sumac Martini and an intriguing-sounding Chilli Old-Fashioned will be migrating from Nopi to join a raft of new concoctions.
With Ottolenghi’s already stellar reputation we don't doubt his latest venue in industrial hub of Spitalfields will offer welcome respite from the bustle of The City. This is all-day dining à la mode: we're already convinced.
