Manna, Primrose Hill

If you're on the hunt for great vegetarian restaurants in North London, there's no need to look any further than Primrose Hill vegetarian restaurant, Manna.

Onion and squash tart
Claiming to be the UK's 'oldest and most established' vegetarian restaurant, and celebrating its 47th anniversary this year, manna has been owned by Robin and Roger Swallow since 1995. Feeding off the growth in 'vegetarian sensibility' in both California and the UK, the brand is now divided between Los Angeles and North London, offering vegetarian catering, culinary schooling and healthy-eating lifestyle advice.
At the heart of it all, however, remains their little spot on Primrose Hill, which serves up some of the most adventurous and exciting vegetarian food in town, informed by modern British, Thai, Indian and SoCal culinary heritage. Here you'll find everything from chipotle tofu kebab to raw pad thai, cashew cheese roulade to channa masala pizza with tamarind chutney, as well as organic pastas and breads, nachos and the opportunity to fashion your own tasting menu selection. Good as it sounds already, practically half the dishes on offer are gluten-free, with an adventurous lineup of raw dishes too, including a mojito tart that sounds unmissable.
Throw in a great selection of exclusively organic and vegan wines and craft beers with a selection of great take-home vegan offerings too, and there's a reason that after nearly half a century, manna remains North London's premier healthy-dining spot.
Manna will also be hosting a 7-course Valentines day feast on the 14th February. There will be two sittings, one at 18:00 and one at 21:00. Reservations are essential. Click here for more information.
