Il Pampero restaurant, Belgravia

A new elegant Italian restaurant has opened in Belgravia with some dishes finished at-table

Il Pampero restaurant, Belgravia
New Italian restaurants in London must serve perfect food to stand a chance against the killer competition, and Il Pampero has head chef Claudio Covino – previously of Locanda Locatelli – shaking things up in the kitchen.

The new London restaurant, described as elegant with nods to classic Italian glamour, will serve a tagliolini mixed at-table in a large wheel of sheep's cheese for a sauce, and other dishes to turn heads include a pumpkin gnocci and hare ragu in a chestnut tagliatelle.

And there's more dishes with a side of theatre, including a range of sharing plates that will be finished table-side to expose cooking techniques.

Though the head chef will be keeping things simple in the kitchen, such as his home-made pasta for pasta dishes, and the home-smoked and brined meat. Design is by renowned British designer Tara Bernerd, previously of the International Hotel Group and resorts.

Il Pampero will open with Belgravia's The Hari hotel this March, and we'll update you when we hear of exact launch details
