Doctor Who Festival

A four day festival is providing the ultimate opportunity for fans of all ages to share their love of all things Doctor Who

Doctor Who Festival
Prepare the tardis - the Doctor is coming! With his trusted assistant, of course, and other members of the cast and writing team.
This year's Doctor Who festival is a chance for fans of the show to come face-to-face with their heros as well as have a good rummage behind the scenes and learn about how the BBC's creative team put the programme together.
Meet the cast
Twice a day, every day, a cast panel interview featuring cast members who have appeared during the era of the Twelfth Doctor will be sitting to answer questions, including the Doctor himself, Peter Capaldi, Michelle Gomez and Ingrid Oliver. Jenna Coleman, the most recent assistant, will be attending on Saturday and Sunday.Click here for more.
Meet the writers
Look out also for the series of writing sessions led by Steven Moffat - the lead writer for Doctor Who will be joined by two different writers each day. They'll be discussing what it's like to create a story and watch it come alive and also what it's like to hear your work talked about by people all around the world.
This year all of the Series 9 writers are attending the Festival, including, excitingly, Mark Gatiss. Click here for more.
Go behind the scenes
Other highlights include the chance to see one of the show's MFX sculptors create a monster in front of your eyes. There will be a sculptor in the props and costumes area who will turn a simple block of clay into one of the monsters from Doctor Who.
Become a Doctor Who actor
For those eager to follow in thespy footsteps, a special Drama School will be teaching some monster acting-skills.The actor Nick Briggs and actor and Dalek operator Barnaby Edwards are leading a class on voice acting paces, talking about how they got into audio drama on Doctor Who and giving advice to any aspiring voice actors. Tickets for the Saturday have now sold out. However, the programme is designed to be roughly the same each day so one day ticket for the Friday or Sunday would be enough to enjoy the event. Happy Dalaking!
